pivotvac004The Pivot Vac (BDH1200PVAV) is compact and lightweight with an extendable crevice for easy cleaning even in small areas. Its pivoting nose rotates 200° to clean awkward spaces in a variety of angles.

handvac006The Hand Vac (BDH1220AV) has a long crevice tool that adds up to 50% more reach, giving the compact size extra length when needed. The removable and translucent bowl makes it easy to see when the vacuum needs to be emptied and the self standing feature allows for easy storage after use.

compactvac008The Compact Vac (BDH1200NVAV) is the smallest option in the new car vacuum line. It features a curved handle for comfort and a wide open mouth to easily suck up large debris. The translucent bowl features a quick-release latch that makes the canister easy to empty.

Ultra Compact Sanders

For the weekend woodworker to the true handyman, this collection of sanders offers power and performance in a small, effective package
TOWSON, MD (November 3, 2014) – BLACK+DECKER introduces the newly updated and best-selling Mouse Sander as well as new 1/4 Sheet and Random Orbit Sanders. The 1/4 Sheet Sander and Random Orbit Sander are each the shortest sanders in their class. This brings the DIYer close to the work surface, which affords them premium maneuverability around their projects.
With a compact and ergonomic design, BLACK+DECKER’s best-selling detail sander, the Mouse, is back and better than ever. The 1.5A Mouse Sander can be gripped in three ways that provide maximum versatility. Palm grip is ideal for sanding surfaces, precision grip provides extreme maneuverability, and handle grip allows you to get into ultra tight spaces. The Mouse Sander’s handholds make it easy and comfortable to sand on a flat or raised surface – even horizontally or vertically. Its compact body, low-profile legs, and see-through dust canister make it great for all types of sanding projects around the home.
BLACK+DECKER is also introducing the 2.0Ah 1/4 Sheet and Random Orbit Sanders. The 1/4 Sheet Sander is best for finish sanding and detail work while the Random Orbit Sander provides fast, efficient material removal. Both sanders feature paddle switches instead of the traditional flip switch. The paddle switches are located on top of each sander and are activated by pressing down naturally with the palm of the hand as if the sander is in use. The sander can then be locked in either the on or off position for convenient, one-handed use.image002
The new collection provides the ultimate in user benefit. They are compact, ergonomic, and versatile. The DIY homeowner is sure to appreciate their effectiveness and ease of use.
These sanders are some of the first products to feature BLACK+DECKER’s new identity. Big Finish

TOWSON, MD (November 10, 2014) / PR Newswire / — A BLACK+DECKER survey finds that more than half of homeowners (52 percent) in the United States currently have unfinished home improvement projects, while the vast majority of them (78.7 percent) have two or more incomplete projects. The survey finds that time is the biggest factor in leaving a project incomplete. In addition, and especially as the holiday season approaches, the survey finds that family events are the biggest motivation for people to complete their projects – until now.
The survey results inspired BLACK+DECKER to launch Your Big Finish. Designed to encourage homeowners to complete their projects by the end of the year, finished projects can be submitted for a chance to win weekly BLACK+DECKER products and a grand prize of $10,000, which will be awarded to one lucky DIYer. For added inspiration, BLACK+DECKER will highlight select projects on the Your Big Finish website, as well as on a Times Square billboard from Nov. 27 through Dec. 24. The contest launches today and runs through Dec. 28.
“We’ve all been there – the project is halfway done but life gets in the way. Walk one step away from a project and there’s a chance you’ll never go back. Your Big Finish is an exciting way to motivate homeowners to finish the undone projects, big or small,” said Allison Nicolaidis, President of BLACK+DECKER. “Not only do we want to help conquer procrastination and instill pride in do-it-yourself achievement, we also want homeowners to know they aren’t alone – it happens to us all. Luckily, with 100 years of creating tools to get the job done, BLACK+DECKER is here to help.”
Additional survey results include:
•The most common unfinished projects are room improvements (repairs, maintenance, updates, upgrades), followed by walls, including plaster repair, painting or shelf installation.
•Finances are the second biggest reason home improvement projects go unfinished, followed by skill-level.
•When asked how they feel about home improvement projects, respondents were most likely to feel “challenged,” but also “proud” and “accomplished.”
•The majority of homeowners surveyed said they do not set deadlines when taking on a project.
