BOLT Locks Now Available At Cabela’s

MILWAUKEE – Leading outdoor outfitter Cabela’s now offers outdoor enthusiasts the one-key convenience and security of BOLT (Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology) locks, a durable and reliable way to protect trailers and campers while streamlining the number of keys on a key ring.

BOLT locks feature breakthrough one-key lock technology that permanently programs locks to a single vehicle ignition key.  When drivers insert their key into the lock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key.  When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position.  When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.

Available online and in all retail locations, Cabela’s features BOLT’s best-selling adjustable Coupler Pin Lock and 5/8-inch Receiver Lock. The weatherproof BOLT Coupler Pin Lock fits couplers from 1/2-inch to 3 3/8-inch and is adjustable in increments of 1/8-inch, allowing for a snug fit in any size. The lock is designed to slide easily along the stainless steel pin and is engineered with no exposed shackle, helping further deter theft. It features a plate tumbler sidebar to prevent picking and bumping and its stainless steel lock shutter helps keep out dirt and moisture.

“The Coupler Pin Lock is designed for a wide range of coupler sizes, offering towing versatility in addition to the improved level of security BOLT technology provies,” said BOLT National Sales Manager Erika Garcia.

For complete towing security and maximum convenience, the Coupler Pin Lock can be used with the 5/8-inch BOLT Receiver Lock, which is used to lock the trailer to the hitch. The corrosion-resistant stainless steel 5/8-inch Receiver Lock securely locks trailers to the hitch and fit most trucks and SUVs with a Class 1-5 hitch. It is designed with a durable stainless steel pin, an automotive-grade stainless steel lock shutter and a six-plate tumbler sidebar to prevent picking and bumping.

BOLT locks are available for many General Motors, Ford, Chrysler/Jeep, Toyota and Nissan vehicles, and come with a limited lifetime warranty. For more information or to order, visit

GEARWAGON Trailer For Small Cars

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Let’s Go Aero (LGA), manufacturer of innovative gear transport and outdoor lifestyle products, brings the RV experience to the small car owner with its ultra-lite and versatile GearWagon 125 Camper. A dual-purpose cargo and camping trailer weighing only 560 pounds, the GearWagon can be pulled by any vehicle including those with Class I, 1,000 pound tow ratings.

An economical and convenient alternative to pop-up or tear-drop campers, the GearWagon 125 Camper provides outdoor enthusiasts with 137 cubic feet of cargo carrying capacity for hauling everything from bicycles, motorcycles and ATVs to camping equipment, sporting gear and lawn and garden tools. For the small car traveler, the GearWagon 125 Camper makes comfortable camping possible by providing a mobile habitat that is easily towed by Class I-rated vehicles, with the capacity to conveniently pack and transport all the outdoor living gear needed for camping and road trips. “Well-suited for off-road use, it can carry an ATV or an ATV can pull it. Then, with the ATV removed, GearWagon 125 becomes a bed for sleeping,” said Marty Williams, president, LGA.

Designed to comfortably sleep two with a large storage area below deck, GearWagon 125 offers a combination of lightness, capacity, transformability and toughness. Measuring 93 inches long, 60 inches wide and 51 inches high, it features a durable, twin-wall polyethylene base and an aerodynamic tonneau-cover style lid that keeps cargo dry, secure and out of sight.

Campers can quickly and easily set up for overnight camping using the GearWagon’s expanded tent enclosure, decking panels and leveler kit components. The waterproof, marine-grade fabric tent includes a main body and a vestibule, which expands the traveler’s living and storage space, providing an enclosed entry way over the trailer’s endgate for more gear, family pets, or just sitting comfortably.

To create a platform for positioning a queen size air mattress or to add another level of storage with 500 pounds weight rating, modular, four-panel decking fits along the width of the trailer using the base’s integrated ledge. When not in use, the panels store along the sidewalls of the trailer.

The Solar Vent feature removes condensation accumulation during the night and prevents mold and mildew from occurring. The solar powered ventilator moves 1,000 cubic feet per hour, and will run for up to 48 hours without sunlight.

For leveling and standing when the trailer is off the hitch, the leveler kit consists of two adjustable stabilizer jacks on the rear of the trailer which provide support for sitting on the endgate and standing inside the trailer bed. Lance Camper Annouces All New 995 Truck Camper

Lancaster, California – December 11, 2014 – Lance Camper Mfg. Corp.

Lance continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary by rolling out an all-new Truck Camper model, the 995.

The 995 is a 9’ model weighing in at a 3,290 base dry weight, 300-500lbs. less than competitive models. Highlights of this new floor plan include a full wall dinette/refrigerator super slide sitting on an “above the wheel well” floor design. This new floor configuration allows for more space inside the camper, less of a step up into the slide out area and the addition of a nice slide out storage drawer in the basement area.

Randy Hunter, Product Development Manager states, “we introduced the above the wheel well floor design on the 1172 model and our owners love it, so we have incorporated into the new 995 as well. This gives our owners an additional 9” of interior floor width, which is evident as soon as you walk in”.

The all-new 995 standard features include a very large galley with substantial counter space and built in trashcan designed to accommodate today’s most common size of plastic grocery bag. The cab-over area features a new radius entry step and all new entertainment center housing the standard blue tooth compatible audio system and optional 24” TV. Available options include an electric rear awning, Lance’s exclusive ultraDECKplus bumper, keyless entry, entry door shade and new LED docking lights. We wonder if companies like One Sure Insurance will start up Truck Camper insurance as the market for them is growing rapidly!
Production starts in January with the 995 starring at the Pleasanton CA and Denver CO RV shows next month!

Tread Lightly Auction Update

Tread Lightly! Celebrating 25-years of Outdoors Education and Stewardship

Salt Lake City, Utah – September 22, 2014 – Tread Lightly! (, a leading national non-profit advocating for recreational access to public lands, has received more than $55,000 from a Land Rover donation and charity eBay auction.

This was the largest single donation in Tread Lightly!’s history, and the much needed funds will be immediately put to use to keep trails open for public use through critical Tread Lightly! programs like Restoration for Recreation, Respected Access is Open Access, and the RIDE ON Designated Routes campaigns.

Land Rover North America, one of Tread Lightly!’s founding partners of nearly 25 years, auctioned a fully restored 1990 Range Rover Great Divide Expedition replica on eBay earlier this month to raise the money. The auction served in part to kick-off a 25th anniversary celebration for both Land Rover’s original Great Divide Expedition and Tread Lightly!’s founding as a national non-profit.

Shannon and Angie Davis, who won the auction, are longtime Land Rover enthusiasts and off-roaders who support the Tread Lightly! message. “Angie and I love the adventure that comes with getting off-road and the opportunities that are only available because we have access to so many wonderful public lands,” Mr. Davis said. “Thanks to Land Rover for the opportunity to enjoy a piece of history, and thanks to Tread Lightly! for working to keep our trails open.”

Mr. Davis and his wife both participated in the recent 25th anniversary running of the Great Divide Expedition hosted by Land Rover. They also received honorary Tread Lightly! memberships.

“Tread Lightly! thanks Land Rover and eBay for their continued support, and sends a huge thanks and congratulations to Shannon and Angie Davis for their generous bid,” said Lori McCullough, executive director for Tread Lightly!.

Launched as a public awareness program in the mid-1980s by the U.S. Forest Service, Tread Lightly! evolved into a 501(c)(3) foundation in 1990 to cut red tape and initiate public-private collaboration.

Today, Tread Lightly! is viewed as a credible, apolitical organization delivering critically needed, cost-effective solutions to today’s most pressing needs surrounding recreation issues. The nonprofit is a member-based organization with more than 40,000 individual members and supporters and more than 80 official partners.

“Moving towards Tread Lightly’s 25th anniversary, we briefly look back and appreciate the tremendous impact that consistent education and stewardship programs have had on outdoor recreation over the past quarter of a century,” McCullough said. “Those efforts are only possible through support of partners like Land Rover, and as Tread Lightly! continues to grow ever stronger as a member-based organization, the positive impacts will also continue to grow.”

A piece of off-road history, Land Rover’s inaugural Great Divide Expedition in the fall of 1989 helped launch Tread Lightly! as a national non-profit focused on fostering an ethic of good stewardship to proactively protect recreation access to America’s lands and waterways. The auctioned Range Rover is a restored replica of the vehicles that were used on the original Great Divide Expedition 25 years ago.

Over the past few weeks, the 25th anniversary Great Divide Expedition covered more than 1,000 miles of unpaved roads and 4×4 trails along a portion of the original Great Divide route. Throughout this expedition, participants navigated narrow rocky trails with steep drop-offs and mountain passes over 13,000 feet (4,000 meters).

A time-lapse video of the 1990 Range Rover restoration project is here:
